Virginia’s Finest the James Madison University Marching Royal Dukes. Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Aww, the M.
I miss the M.
My cap.
IT’S ALL GLITTER BECAUSE I LOVE GLITTER AND I WANT TO BURN EVERYONE’S RETINAS. ♥
I know thanking parents is cliché, but I really mean it. I’m so thankful my parents supported me through everything. Even when I almost failed statistics. And French. And that they were there for me at 3AM when I had a panic attack from drinking too much coffee (I legitimately thought I was going to die freshman year). And that they’d come to see the MRDs play when they could, and that they’d drive down and take me to Staunton sometimes. And that they kept me sane whenever I second guessed myself on the whole teaching thing. They’re the best. Seriously.
My brother doesn’t get any credit. He says my undergraduate years don’t count for anything.
There’s a dinosaur. I like dinosaurs.
Also, I realized I’ve done almost nothing but marching band related things while at JMU.
I’m going to say that the stars represent my short time with the Astronomy Club…..I was an officer and everything. Then life got real and I couldn’t make any of the meetings. My only regret. (haha)
I plan on making the 7 months of graduate school I have before student teaching count. I’m not wasting time. I’m going to do so much.
That’s the plan.
Sashaaaaaa (and Kay too!) remember when this was our first university football game performance?
So long ago… waaaaaaaaaaaaah
September 2008? We were so young. Seriously. I was 17.
I don’t miss freshman year at all because guard was NOT fun, but….this (plus the closer later) was a good show. Go us.
Sometimes guard members dress up like drum majors.
And yeah, sometimes we cross dress.
First competition day for Nuance + first fundraising day for FLOC this season.
FLOC made ALL the money and we got so many kids to sign up for our spring clinic!
Oh and, no big deal or anything, but…..NUANCE GOT FIRST PLACE IN INDEPENDENT A CLASS!!!
I’M SO FREAKING PROUD OF MY GIRLS. THEY DID SUCH A GREAT JOB. BLEW EVERYONE ELSE AWAY.
“START WEARING PURPLE!”
JMU’s pepband, playing what could become JMU’s new song.
(Original by Gogol Bordello, a “Gypsy punk band”)
My schools so boss. and so is my boyfriend who plays in pep band HOOOOOOOO <3
DIS SONG. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. PEP BAND (HOOOOOOO) MAKES ME VERY HAPPY.
JMU has released the football schedule for 2012, featuring six home games, beginning against St. Francis (PA) (2-9, 1-6 in Northeast Conference last season) on Sept. 1, followed by Alcorn State (2-8, 1-8 SWAC) the next week.
Then it’s the much-anticipated date with West Virginia at FedEx. Last time we saw the Mountaineers, they were hanging 70 on Clemson, so, that should be … something.
“We are really excited about having six home games ,” Head Coach Mickey Matthews added. “Our players and coaches are looking forward to playing West Virginia at FedEx field. It is what I would call a balanced schedule with our home and away games more evenly distributed than last year. Ending the season with Old Dominion will begin a fun tradition for both institutions and football programs. “
